On Monday, during a trial against Bitcoiner Hodlonaut, which began in Oslo, lawyers for Craig Wright, who claimed to be the inventor of Bitcoin, said that he will not provide any new cryptographic proof that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. As per Wright’s attorneys, his scholarly work, personal history, and his success in convincing Gavin Andresen that he held Satoshi’s private keys are proof enough. There is no further need for any cryptographic proof. This Norwegian trial is one of two lawsuits centered around a series of tweets from March 2019 in which Hodlonaut had expressed doubt about Wright’s claims to be Satoshi, and called him a “fraud” and a “scammer.” Craig Wright’s attorneys have also gone to the extent to claim that the scientist has suffered emotional harm after the allegations and has to continuously prove himself to be Satoshi Nakamoto.
