In a recent tweet, Input Output CEO Charles Hoskinson called out the sudden increase of spam bots impersonating Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. Hoskinson seemed to laugh off the bot issue, claiming that Buterin would never actually follow him on Twitter.

There’s been a massive surge in the number of bots that are impersonating Buterin ahead of the ETH merger event, which is set to happen tomorrow. This has also led to an increase in scams because of this. In a similar scenario on Sunday, a Twitter account that belongs to a popular British radio station was hacked in order to promote an Ethereum giveaway scam. Apart from this, many other verified Twitter accounts have been hijacked as well, with fraudsters attempting to impersonate Buterin.
