Kraken has hired Blair Halliday, Gemini’s former head of UK operations, to lead its own UK operations, a significant market for the exchange.

According to a news release, Halliday will focus on growing the exchange’s presence in the region. Prior to joining Gemini, Halliday worked in compliance at Circle, JP Morgan and Intercontinental Exchange. Prior to those positions, he worked with NatWest for 14 years.

Curtis Ting, who formerly ran Kraken’s UK operations, will now embark on a bigger position that will include oversight of numerous areas.

Kraken intends to expand its legal, compliance, and operational teams in the near future. It also intends to provide a marketplace for trading NFTs.
