According to a study by Elliptic, a UK Blockchain analysis provider, North Korean hackers have reportedly stolen $721 million in cryptocurrency assets from Japan since 2017. The figure represents 30% of the global cryptocurrency losses as per Nikkei(Japanese stock market index).

G7 Finance ministers and the central governors are supporting efforts to counter threats from state actors that seek to steal crypto assets. Elliptic’s analysis indicates North Korea stole $2.3 billion in cryptocurrency from businesses between 2017-2022.
