Hong Kong’s police force and the Securities and Futures Commission have formed a joint task force to monitor suspicious crypto exchange activity. The task force was established after a high-level meeting in September to enhance collaboration and information sharing, with a particular focus on Virtual Asset Trading Platforms and establishing a risk assessment mechanism. The task force includes members from the police force’s Commercial Crime, Cyber Security Financial Intelligence and Investigations divisions, and representatives from the SFC’s Enforcement and Intermediaries divisions.
