According to blockchain analysis firm Elliptic Hamas has not received significant volumes of crypto donations. The assertion follows claims by several US lawmakers that Hamas raised millions of dollars in crypto through June this year before launching its latest attack on Israel. The lawmakers’ allegations were based on an earlier article in the Wall Street Journal referencing crypto donations to Hamas. While Hamas has experimented with cryptocurrency as a means of funding its activities, the traceability of such funds means amounts raised remain tiny in comparison with other funding sources, according to Elliptic.
