US prosecutors have secured a hold on SafeMoon CEO Braden John Karony’s bail release, warning he could be a flight risk and pose a threat to the community. On November 9, Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall postponed a release order granted by a Utah magistrate, which would have permitted Karony to stay at his Miami apartment and barred him from using cryptocurrency exchanges or wallets. The challenge came after prosecutors claimed the magistrate ignored Karony’s assets when the bail figure was set, having been charged in October with conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud and money laundering.
