A court in Montenegro has approved the extradition of Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon to either South Korea or the United States, following his arrest in March for possessing false documents. Kwon, who is facing multiple counts of fraud charged by US federal prosecutors and civil charges in the US, will serve a four-month prison sentence in Montenegro for document forgery before a decision on his extradition is made by the country’s justice minister. Kwon’s associate, Han Chang-Joon, is also facing a similar sentence. In April, co-founder Daniel Shin was indicted in South Korea for capital markets law violations, with prosecutors freezing $185 million in assets. Shin has denied involvement in the company’s collapse, stating that he left the company two years prior.
