Consensys, in its recent statement on June 18th, announced a major win for Ethereum developers, technology providers, and industry participants who suffered due to SEC’s regulatory overreach and inconsistent positions on Ethereum. The enforcement division of the SEC has reportedly notified that it is closing its investigation on Ethereum 2.0. This decision follows a letter sent by Consensys on June 7, asking the SEC to confirm that the ETH ETF approvals in May, which were based on Ether being a commodity, meant that the agency would close its Ethereum 2.0 investigation.
