Donald Trump has argued that the DOJ has “violated its own policy” by filing a superseding indictment against him so close to the presidential election. On Tuesday, Jack Smith filed a superseding indictment in the D.C. criminal case against former President Donald Trump. Trump stated this new indictment which has all the problems of the old indictment needs to be dismissed immediately. He shared that this is merely an attempt to interfere with the election and characterized it as a “direct attack on Democracy” and an “unprecedented abuse of the Criminal Justice System.”
